My name is Lizzie. I’m a 52-year-old wife, mom to two beautiful grown-up children, and Nana to a lively, curious, and absolutely delightful five-year-old granddaughter who keeps my heart young. I’m currently employed full-time in a role that allows me to pay my bills and be a responsible adult — but it doesn’t allow much space for creativity. And creativity, for me, is essential.

So I started carving out time to feed my creative soul. Baking became my therapy. Making handmade gifts, sewing little keepsakes, crafting fridge magnets to capture memories, and blending natural lotions and balms that soothe the skin — these became my love languages. Over time, these passions grew into something more: a quiet dream to create a space where others could experience that same joy, comfort, and indulgence.

The name Bederfies was inspired by my baby sister who teaches in the UAE. Whenever she sent a care package back home, it came with a message: “There’s a little bederfie on its way to you.” That word — bederfie, meaning little spoil — stuck with me. It perfectly captured what I was trying to create: small moments of joy, care, and love wrapped into thoughtful, handmade items.

Whether it’s a batch of comforting cookies, a cinnamon bun baked with heart, a magnet to mark a memory, or a balm to nourish your skin — everything from Bederfies is crafted to make someone feel seen, loved, and indulged.

As I look ahead to retiring in the next five years, Bederfies is more than just a side project — it’s the beginning of my next chapter. A space where I can live creatively, build something meaningful, and share a piece of myself with you, one handmade treat at a time.
